Inspired by the Orient…

Inspiration for each and every Ravel collection comes from all corners of the world, from the finishing touches inspired by trims seen in South East Asia, to the intricate stitching and textures discovered in the Americas, to the street style and chic way the Parisian women dress; it’s all combined into one big melting pot of inspiration for our expert designer, Nikki, to work from.

In this issue of the Ravel blog we’re giving you a colourful insight into the mind of our designer, as she travelled to China on a whistle stop tour of The Orient; searching for inspiration and ideas on how to dress Ravel for autumn/winter 2014 every step of the way (yes, we really do work that far ahead!)

China is without doubt a fusion of dazzling colours, exotic scents, unforgettable architecture and impeccable style, so it seems the perfect destination to seek design ideas that reflect the brands image, ethos and personality. Delicate beads, jewels and irridescent gems were evident just about everywhere and will undoubtedly form part of the look for AW14. Bold prints in the form of baroque and animal were also catching her eye, with the  vibrant colours and patterns looking set to appear on some of next winter’s statement making shoes.

Here’s a peek at some of the things inspiring Nikki’s trip of The Orient…
